I love the wonderful world of Jacob. He is super sweet, kind, and he is always willing to share. When he thinks Mommie looks hungry, he raises a strawberry filled fists to share his grub with her. He understands so many things. He hates when Mommie is upset. Especially before he could walk, Jacob would snuggle and hug-a-bug Mommie when she would have a "just because" cry. Before I knew Jacob was Jacob, before it was confirmed he was a boy, I knew him. Sitting on our bed in our apartment, Justin was out of town on business and I was 18 weeks, I read the story of Jacob. I read all about how he became Jacob. I loved the promises God had for him. How His hand was on him. I knew right then I had a Jacob. Even then, he would kick and swim with joy when I read to him from the Bible. Even when I was pregnant and had sad, lonely days, Jacob could hear and feel. He would just wiggle and cozy up on my rib cage a little more. Guess he was letting me know it was hurting his ears or something! I knew he would love his Mommie! I also knew he would be a silly, silly guy. To know me is to know that I am a goof ball. I am simply nerdy, out of nowhere sayings, and silly make up my own jingles girl. That is exacting Jacob, too! He is super nerdy....super smart. He is also, as stated above, funny! He even laughs at his own jokes, even though I have no idea what he just said. That's okay. So, let's go over what Jacob is: sweet, smart, sympathetic, nerdy, silly, funny, and determined. Yes, determined. He knows how to do everything, and wants to do it. One example is yard work. I have been endlessly working on my backyard. When we moved in Justin subscribed to "You can't have a nice backyard with dogs" theory. So, he saw no need in watering the back yard, which lead to bare spots, which lead to large areas of no grass and the growth of weeds. So, I have spent much of last Fall and all of the Spring and Summer picking weeds, watering, and seeding my back yard. You would know by looking, but it has overcome lots of hurdles. Grass is growing, weeds are being defeated. Jacob is my overseer. He makes sure the water sprinklers are ready to go. He waters the bushes and trees. He even makes great muddy puppies. He will adventure to use a rake, and even points out the dogs.
Jacob is just wonderful, and I cannot wait to see what God has planned for him!
