What a month! Where do I begin? Kait went to church the first time when she was 1 week old. Shortly after Kait turned one week, we found ourselves in the children’s ER. She had been screaming in pain all day, and after the nurse heard her, we were in to see our pediatrician. We have great confidence in our doctor. He thought she may have an infection in her abdomen from her umbilical stump; he sent us to the ER downtown. Momma was a mess! I called Jenn, a church friend, and she met us at the hospital. She had fever, pain, bleeding from the stump, and a weird rash. After taking her stats, Justin carried Kait to our room in the ER. She handed her to me – her stump caught on Justin’s shirt and pulled off. To make things short, her symptoms began to dissipate after that event. Poor baby had blood work and urine during our stay. They found nothing. After talking to our pediatrician the next day (he called us at home to see what happened), we concluded two things: it was her stump and the nerve endings inside that caused her pain, fever and rash and/or it was the amazing prayer warriors from the Real Deal that went before God and asked for healing. Either way, we are thankful to God. A few days later, at her 2 week appointment, Kait was diagnosed with acid reflux. She has that good’ole Bentley tummy! After trying different medications, we have found one that works.
Kaitlyn 6 weeks
At week four, we found out she has torticollis. I had noticed she favored her right side, and as she got older, she stopped looking to the left. Today was her first physical therapy session. She shows good promise. Her head has begun to flatten on the right side – they feel it can be completely reversed with intense therapy. We are scheduled for PT twice a week.
There is so much more to tell you, and will post soon. Right now Justin is waiting me to “get off my blog” and our neighbor’s dog is howling, again.
Since I could not choose just one picture, I will post three recent “favorite” pictures of the kids. (Having upload probs - will get back to it tomorrow).

Kaitlyn is beautiful! We too had Chloe in the NICU when she was 4 days old and I still shudder at the memories... I will pray for your beautiful baby!
