Brandy is such a wonderful person. She has been going through so much since we met last year. Brandy was my first friend at our apartment-the one we lived in when Justin began his new job. She was so wonderful. At that time she had only one dog, Lily. And, we had Pumpkin and Mollie. Boy, was it crazy. Pumpkin acted like a psycho every time we went out for "potty" and I am sure Brandy thought we were bad dog parents for not controlling her better. Pumpkin liked to pull and pull for the first 5 minutes we were out. Anyway, Brandy and I became friends. I was usually on our balcony when I would see her walking Lily. I was big and pregnant and usually did not have makeup on/had messy hair. And, I was always upset at the dogs. Brandy was always nice to our dogs...and we love Lily - she is very well behaved.
I had been to the apartment main building to work out. It was about 7 months along. I stopped off at the office and saw a Britax infant car seat box just sitting around. The manager was on the phone so I stepped closer and closer to the box. Yep. It was mine. I had ordered Jacob's car seat online...and there it was. The only problem is that I am pregnant and could not carry it. It went with me into the work out room while I did crunches, pelvic rocks, bicep curls, and squats. That box got a lot of weird looks just sitting there, and I got some weird looks, too. Well, it was getting late - 6:30 pm. If I was not in the apartment Justin usually did a frantic search for me - first the laundry room, then the weight room, and then the mail station. Anyway, I thought he would have found me by now. He didn't answer his phone and he had not called mine. So, I decided to do what any normal pregnant woman would do. I decided to push the heavy box to the apartment. I pushed it, slided it down a series of small grassy hills until we came to the sidewalk and street. The path home was now flat all the way to our door. So I began pushing it with my feet-here a push, there a push. All of a sudden Brandy saw me. She had just gotten home. She was terrific-she carried that nerdy box to my door. She was wonderful! I was on a mission to get the box home....and she helped me even though I would have eventually made it on my own, with the box half there from pushing it on concrete. (And, Justin was just working late and he got home after 7 pm).
Brandy is just wonderful! Saturday we met at our local Starbucks. She let me talk a lot...and I have a tendency to just talk about me and the baby (especially since that is who I mostly talk to all day-myself and Jacob). Justin called a couple of times to see when I would be home. Here are some wonderful things I learned about Brandy on Saturday - she loves pumpkin recipes & foods and is reading Love & Respect. It was great to hear about her past and her future. It was neat to hear her stories about when she and John were first married. And, the best thing about Brandy is that she loves children and people. And, I am praying that when God's time is right, that He will bless her with the desires of her heart.
Thank you Brandy for being my friend, no matter what I look like, no matter what I say, no matter where I live, and no matter where I have been!
