Going Home 1

It's been well over a week hasn't it? Well, I cannot fully express what it was like to go "home" and relax. I did not have to clean the house, wash tons of laundry or anything. I took daily showers and blow dried my hair everyday! (Normally I let my hair air dry and curl...but in the Panhandle, I miss You, my hair looks great when I am with You!)

My Mom and Dad really pampered me, and they did not have to. I came with the intention to pamper them. They were a great blessing to me. They took care of Jacob so I could rest or go shopping for 5 hours with my sister! That is the most time I have been away from Jacob...ever! It was great! My parents took us to see my grandmother. It was Jacob's first time to meet his Great Grandmother Carey, the oldest of his 4 great-grandparents at age 83. We went to Dumas to see the old house, the old tree, Margie (our adopted Granny), and my favorite place to eat (not necessarily for the food, but the memories). We saw my Dad's friend Tom the farmer. I wasn't kidding that Tom could take Jacob to the farm to see the harvesting. He would love that. I think Tom looked at me and could not believe I was old enough to have my own baby. It was just yesterday that I sat with him and Dad for breakfast and listened to them talk about life. We saw the new windmill farms near Dumas...they are so big, breathtakingly scary, and just plain big! We had fun visiting Grammy, Pa and Aunt Stephanie. Jacob loved on Aunt Stephanie and Grammy's Cat. He also loved Grammy & Pa too! Jacob had fun petting Bubby Dog, hugging Pumpkin Dog, and laughing at Chloe Dog. My parents did not mind Jacob running all over the house. He didn't cry much, except when he fell. He attended Dad outside to see the land. Jacob gave much needed bear hugs to Mom and Dad. We also visited with my friend Tracy and her boys, saw Justin and my first house, and visited our old neighbors. I celebrated in the 25th Anniversary of the Amarillo Ronald McDonald House. I also had a heavy heart that Big Brothers Big Sisters has not grown as much after I left two years ago. My Mom and Aunt Nellie took Jacob on a shopping spree and bought him whatever he pointed to. Mom, Nellie, Jacob and I went to the park to feed the ducks. Jacob decided the crackers looked good; he ate one. So beautiful to see the sparrows, black birds and ducks come up for bread. The sparrows, so small, were inches from Jacob. All I could think was how small and beautiful they were; how wonderful to know God takes care of them...and us. I cannot get over how amazing Jacob is in experiencing his world. He loves to love and is ever so forgiving. God, thank you so much! This trip has helped my heart, my memory problems, and my walk with You.
