I think it depends on the child and circumstances..my first we didn't move from the high chair to the booster till she was well over 2..jsut because it worked best (we ate our meals on our breakfast bar). When #2 was born..we transitioned to the table and she went to a booster seat. However..#2 and 3 are only 16 months apart..so # 2 went to the booster at about 1.5 year old and she has done great. So I say probably somewhere between a year and 2 years old..but defintely depends on your child. I know 4 year olds that should still be in a booster..lol
